David O. Wells

I came to Kalamazoo from the Detroit area to attend Western Michigan University in 1970, and never looked back. The beauty of the West Michigan area, and its proximity to Lake Michigan make it a great place to call home.

I've worked in retail in downtown Kalamazoo for 35 years, and enjoyed every minute of it. From managing the Fine Jewelry Department at Jacobson's, to running Van Sweden's Jewelry Store, I've been amazed at the way Kalamazoo keeps reinventing itself, and continues to be a wonderful place to raise a family. It is an extremely diverse city, very rich in cultural arts. I have had the pleasure of being a volunteer for both the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts Art Fair in Bronson Park, and the Paw Paw Wine & Harvest Festival for over 25 years.

All three of my children attended Kalamazoo Public School, putting their education to good use, and have excelled beyond my dreams. My youngest was a recipient of the Kalamazoo Promise, what a wonderful gift this is!

Graduating from WMU with a Bachelor of music, I take every chance I can to play my trumpet (a big thank you to my understanding, lovely wife). I play with various bands in the area including the Kalamazoo Big Band, the Gull Lake Jazz Orchestra, and the Grand Rapids Jazz Orchestra. I've also been a volunteer caller for the ''Mike Gary Athletic Fund'', a fundraising program for WMU student-athletes (Go Broncos!) for the past 10 years.

I love the Kalamazoo area and am proud to call it home. Customer service is my specialty, and I will work tirelessly to find you the perfect home.
